Artist's Description

At over 6600 ft elevation, fog is a common condition at Clingman's Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I arrived in time for the sunrise, but was thwarted by a dense fog that decided to stay put. So, I made my way back down, stopping to photograph the wildflowers in the fog. Asters, mountain angelica, daisies, and lots of summer grasses dotted the landscape.
