White Baneberry, or Doll's Eyes, is a common spring wildflower the mountains of East Tennessee. I captured this image while on a pilgrimage to a waterfall - there is always more to see than just what you came for! Both names for this perennial herb are references to its berries, which are white with a single dark dot at the tip: "baneberry" warns against eating them, as they are poisonous, and "doll's eyes" comes from their resemblance to the porcelain eyes once used in dolls.
We all wear many hats over the course of our lives ~ so far, mine have included daughter, sister, cousin, friend, Christian, band member, chemist, aunt, singer, wife, consultant, groupie, and mother.
